We do our best to accommodate your expectations. We’ve created tours for folks of all fitness levels. That said, most “off-trail” hikes involve loose and uneven ground, stooping and stepping over fallen trees and rocks, and of course, hiking up and down hills and should be considered, “Hard” if you’re not used to going off-trail.

On most hikes we ask that children must be 14 years and up. However, some hikes are specifically designed to allow for younger family members. This will be noted in the descriptions. (Our Grigol Gulch Hikes are open to kids 8 and up for example.) Kids under 14 are always free.

On all half/full day group tours we require a $75 deposit in advance. Payment in full will be required on the day of the hike.

When you request a booking, you will receive a follow up email. This email will confirm the dates and direct you to our payment screen. Once your deposit/payment is recieved, your place on the tour will be confirmed.

To reserve a spot on our 2 hour Sunrise/Sunset Photo tours, we do request your $25 payment in advance. This simply confirms your dedication to being there and allows us to be better prepared by knowing the number of participants to expect.

No. Pets are not allowed off-trail in Devil’s Lake State Park and are often not allowed in other areas we visit. There are are also various risks involved with taking pets into the backcountry including conflicts with wildlife and the possibility of exchange of diseases between domestic animals and wildlife. While we love our pets, they can’t come with on this trip.
